Roma considering a winter move for Rennes right-back Hamari Traoré – Get French Football News

[ad_1]

According to Foot Mercato, Serie A club Roma is “very” interested in Rennes right-back Hamari Traoré as a possible winter transfer. The 30-year-old Mali international is no stranger to foreign interests. The right-back was a transfer target last summer by Barcelona.

Per the report, coach José Mourinho’s club is looking to strengthen the right full-back position with an experienced player. If experience is the Italian club’s goal, Hamari is a great option. The right-back has made 157 appearances for Rennes and 44 appearances for his country. On the big stage, he has played in 6 Champions League matches, 15 Europa League matches, and 6 Conference League matches.

As a player, the fullback has made a steady rise to where he is now with the Ligue 1 club. Starting in France’s 3rd division he has played in the Belgian Pro League and  Ligue 2 until finally making his way to his current club.

Though not a “shifty” player, Hamari is a good dribbler with great speed and fierce defending. The Mali international is a very flexible fullback that can be used in many different systems. It looks like the Rennes player is looking for a new challenge and If Roma are not the club to make the move for him this winter, some other club will. Per the report, things should accelerate in the next few days.
