Montpellier close in on Morgan Sanson loan move – Get French Football News

According to L’Équipe Montpellier are closing in on a loan move for Aston Villa’s Morgan Sanson (28), with the deal set to be completed within the next few days. It is reported that there is currently no option to buy the 28-year old. However, with the deal not yet fully finalised there is still a possibility that an option could be inserted.
However, Montpellier face stiff competition from FC Nantes and one other unnamed German club who are also pushing for a loan deal. The player has already expressed his desire to leave the club in the January transfer window, being under contract until 2025.
Sanson would be returning to a former club, having played for Montpellier between 2013 and 2017 before moving to Marseille, and then to the Premier League outfit Aston Villa. If the move goes through, it will be a boost for the side who are currently sitting 14th in Ligue 1.
