Speaking following Paris Saint-Germain’s 2-0 win over Angers in Lionel Messi’s return to action, manager Christophe Galtier praised the Parisian fans for what he describes as a ‘heart-warming‘ welcome back to the Parc des Princes for the World Cup winner. Galtier went as far to thank PSG’s supporters with “Bravo to them for welcoming him like this. Believe me, it’s warmed his heart,” said the Frenchman. He then went on to speak positively about their the Argentine’s recovery, saying that “he had quite a few training sessions with us now, he’s relaxed, light, and very fit on a physical level.”
Lionel Messi played the full 90 minutes on his Parc des Princes return, to the full acclaim of PSG’s fans. It was a triumphant return to his on-pitch action as well, who looked a completely different side from the one that lost to Lens. He was the key figure behind Hugo Ekitike’s opening goal before finishing low to score one of his own.
