According to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Brest have reached an agreement to extend the contract of striker Franck Honorat (26), activating an extra-year option to his current contract which runs until 2026.

Aouna reveals that the management of Brest, including Gregory Lorenzi, have an agreement in place for the former Saint-Étienne player who joined the club in 2020. Honorat was also the subject of interest in the summer from Borussia Mönchengladbach. The German side reportedly offering an amount of €10m for the Frenchman’s services.

Honorat has had a productive year on the pitch, having scored eleven goals and registering four assists in Ligue 1, becoming a key part of Brest’s frontline. He has however only scored two goals so far this season, but will be vital in their fight to avoid relegation with Les Pirates currently sat 17th in Ligue 1 having only one once in their last five matches.
