Reuters breaks news that Super League is shelved

Last week, while media were reporting that the proposed Super League still had life, Reuters broke the news that the project was no more. Super League architect and Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli revealed in an interview with Reuters that it was dead in the water after English withdrawals, and blamed the involvement of politicians for the league’s downfall. Broadcasters broke into their programming to report the news which was flashed across channels throughout Europe.
