Noël Le Graët to step back from FFF presidency – Get French Football News

[ad_1]

As reported by RMC Sport the French Football federation executive committee will forcibly withdraw Noël le Graët as president. The current vice-president Phillipe Diallo will act as interim.

Le Graët will reportedly step back from the role he has performed since 2011 until the publication of a report from the minister of sports into his conduct as president – particularly accusations which continue to stand against the 81-year-old of sexual harassment.

The report is expected to be published at the end of January, and the French Football Federation would have only weeks to make the necessary changes based on its recommendations.

Le Graët’s position as president of the federation was weakened by the backlash from what was widely considered as disrespectful comments towards Zinedine Zidane. The 81-year old said that he “does not give a toss” whether Zidane took the Brazil national team job, and wouldn’t answer the phone to him if he called.

From what started as a message of defiance from France star Kylian Mbappé – who accused the president of being “disrespectful” towards the former World Cup winner – came an outpouring of condemnation from the world of French football and beyond.
