Monaco predicted lineup v Brest: Chelsea-linked Benoît Badiashile to start from bench, Youssouf Fofana and Axel Disasi to start

AS Monaco will be looking to build on their win against AJ Auxerre in midweek when they face Stade Brestois on New Years Day. However, they will likely be without Benoît Badiashile, who is reportedly closing in on a move to Premier League Chelsea.

Badiashile was in the squad that faced Auxerre on Wednesday, however, he did not make it onto the pitch. The France international centre-back is once again in the squad to face Brest, however, he isn’t expected to start. Centre-back partner Axel Disasi is expected to start. Having competed in the World Cup final, he returned to the squad late, although he did feature in the second half of the 3-2 win against Auxerre.

Caio Henrique will likely start from the bench. The Brazilian left-back’s partner recently gave birth, leading him to miss the last game. Like Disasi, Youssouf Fofana is also returning and is expected to start alongside Mohamed Camara. Kevin Volland is out injured.

Alexander Nübel – Ismaïl Jakobs, Guillermo Maripán, Axel Disasi, Vanderson – Aleksandr Golovin, Mohamed Camara, Youssouf Fofana, Krépin Diatta – Breel Embolo, Wissam Ben Yedder.
