Lyon plotting midfield clear-out with Romain Faivre & Jeff Reine-Adélaïde being shown the door – Get French Football News

According to Santi Aouna and Sebastien Denis of Foot MercatoLyon head of recruitment Bruno Cheyrou is aiming to facilitate the departure of midfield pair Jeff Reine Adélaïde and Romain Faivre – the two players are reportedly open to a move. It is also reported that Laurent Blanc is hoping to replace them with a deeper lying “sentinel” player that possess an athletic profile.

It looks as if Reine Adélaïde (24) and Faivre (24) are the first casualties of the Laurent Blanc era, with the manager more convinced by the younger talent at the club that play in a similar position such as El Arouch or Rayan Cherki.

Faivre was signed for a transfer fee worth €18m last year, but has only scored three goals and registered one assist in 28 games in all competitions. It is a similar situation for Reine Adélaïde, who became Angers’ most expensive departure at €24m (which is likely to be soon overshadowed by the departure of Azzedine Ounahi). The former Arsenal man has only made 12 appearances off the bench this season, not being able to earn the trust of Peter Bosz nor Laurent Blanc.
