Lionel Messi makes return to Parc des Princes – Get French Football News

Lionel Messi makes his long-awaited return to club action tonight as PSG host Ligue 1’s bottom boys Angers, the league leaders looking to bounce back after a defeat last time out to second-placed Lens.

With Kylian Mbappé returning from his holiday tomorrow, it’s the Argentine and Neymar who’ll be leading the line alongside young forward Hugo Ekitike. The former Reims man has struck twice for the champions since his move from Reims this summer, and will be looking to capitalise on his increased game time of late to make his mark.

There’ll be another fresh face in the midfield as Warren Zaïre-Emery is handed another start, Christophe Galtier having made the prospect PSG’s youngest-ever starter at just 16, in the cup win over Châteauroux at the weekend. Joining him in the midfield will be Danilo and Vitinha, with Marco Verratti having suffered pains during a sprinting session in yesterday’s training. Nordi Mukiele, meanwhile, retains his spot in the starting eleven, with Achraf Hakimi also due to return tomorrow after his week off with Mbappé.

PSG probably XI v Angers:

Gianluigi Donnarumma – Nordi Mukiele, Marquinhos, Sergio Ramos, Juan Bernat – Warren Zaïre-Emery, Danilo, Vitinha – Lionel Messi – Neymar, Hugo Ekitike.
