Lille have announced French midfielder Benjamin André’s contract renewal. The 32-year-old stalwart is now tied to a new contract until 2026. The former Stade Rennais skipper and winner of the 2019 Coupe de France with the Brittany side, put pen to paper on Thursday. The ever-reliable André is a key part of Paulo Fonseca’s seventh-placed side, having played every Ligue 1 game with Les Dogues bar one, where he was suspended. The Nice-born midfielder scored one goal and registered two assists this season.

One of Ligue 1’s finest holding midfielders, André played a crucial role in securing the shock 2020-2021 Ligue 1 title under current PSG boss Christophe Galtier.
