France and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé (24) has taken to social media to accuse France Football Federation (FFF) president Noël Le Graët of disrespecting Zinédine Zidane.

Mbappé’s defence of former Real Madrid midfielder and World Cup winner Zidane comes after an explosive Le Graët interview on RMC Sport, during which the FFF president said that he “doesn’t give a toss” whether Zidane takes the Brazil job. He added that he wouldn’t even answer the phone if Zidane had rung him.

Former Real Madrid manager Zidane has been out of work since leaving the La Liga side in May 2021. It had been widely reported that he was holding out on the France job, which many believed would become available after the Qatar World Cup. However, Didier Deschamps has extended his contract with Les Bleus until 2026, meaning he will be in charge for the next two major tournaments. Zidane is now being linked with alternative positions, which prompted Le Graët’s comments about his extreme ambivalence about the France legend’s future.

Mbappé has now taken to Twitter, accusing the FFF president of a lack of respect towards Zidane. “Zidane, he is France. You don’t show a lack of respect to a legend like that,” he said.
