Despite interest from Arsenal, Eric García is ready to stay at the Nou Camp and fight for his place, report Mundo Deportivo.
The 22-year-old has been struggling for minutes under the leadership of Xavi this season and rumours have started to emerge that he might be heading to the Premier League this month.
Reportedly Mikel Arteta, who worked with García during their time together at Manchester City, would be keen to bring the Spanish centre-back to Arsenal on loan.
Despite not starting for the Blaugrana since October 29, Xavi is keen to keep his squad intact and he does not want to part ways with any of his defenders, especially after the departure of Gerard Piqué at the end of last year.
The Martorell-born player’s contract is valid until June 2026 with Barcelona.
The Catalan outfit are currently preparing for their Supercopa de España (Spanish Super Cup) fixture against Real Betis.
