Didier Deschamps set to renew as France manager

Both Deschamps and Le Graët are happy to have the former stay on as manager, having reached the objective set out to him before the World Cup, to reach the semi-final stage.

The length of the contract remains to be negotiated, but should the deal go through, Deschamps’ time in charge of the French national team will last at least another two years.

The contract extension would take his reign up to 12 years, in a tenure which has seen him lift the World Cup, as well as reach two finals – Euro 2016, and the last World Cup. He will now likely lead Les Bleus into the next European Championships, in Germany.
