Caen’s Norman Bassette may be on the move this January

Caen may have a “golden generation” with their U19 team. However, not every French team utilizes youth the same way. One of those up-and-coming players is 18-year-old striker Norman Bassette. The Belgian youth international was more hopeful about earning his playing time for the senior team a few weeks ago stating,

I have to be patient, it’s not me who does the composition. I work and I give everything to please Stéphane Moulin, to have as many minutes as possible, and to play in the Ornano (Stade Michel d’Ornano). And if I have to go through the reserve to play in Ligue 2, I do.

However, the Belgian striker’s efforts to find time with the first team have been largely unsuccessful and he seems to be running out of patience. The 18-year-old has only 4 appearances in Ligue 2 this season totaling 34 minutes played. Yet, he has been able to showcase his talents with the reserves and Caen’s U19s scoring 8 goals in 10 matches.
