L’Equipe are reporting that Ligue 2 side Bordeaux are in the market for offensive reinforcements, and have made a bid for Celtic’s Georgios Giakoumakis (28).
Bordeaux expect international Honduras striker Alberth Elis (26) to leave the club and are in the market for a striker to lead the line next to English-born free-scoring Josh Maja (24). The former Fulham striker is Ligue 2’s best scorer with ten goals to his name.
The Aquitaine outfit have reportedly made an offer to Celtic for Greek forward Giakoumakis. Les Girondins’ offer to the Premiership side is reported to be between €2.5 and 3m. The 28-year-old is tied down to a contract with the Bhoys until 2026, having joined in 2021 after scoring 26 goals in 30 Dutch Eredivisie games with VVV Venlo.
Giakoumakis scored six goals in 19 Scottish Premiership games with league leaders Celtic Glasgow this season. The Greek forward also found the back of the net in the Champions League group stage during Celtic’s 1-1 home draw against Shakhtar Donetsk.
