West Ham interested in Lille boss Paulo Fonseca
[ad_1]
West Ham United is reportedly considering Paulo Fonseca as a potential replacement for current manager David Moyes at the end of the current season, according to The Guardian, and reported by RMC Sport. The Portuguese manager, who is currently at Lille, is admired for his attacking style of play, which has caught the attention of West Ham’s board of directors.
Fonseca, who is 50 years old, has made a name for himself with his innovative tactics and ability to develop young talent. He led Shakhtar Donetsk to three consecutive Ukrainian Premier League titles and a Europa League semi-final in 2016-17 before joining AS Roma in 2019. He also managed Porto from 2013 to 2016.
At Lille, Fonseca continues to impress as the team fights for a European spot. Meanwhile, West Ham is facing the threat of relegation and David Moyes has been under pressure for several months. After finishing 7th in Premier League last season, the players have had to contend with a European campaign in addition to their domestic season and are currently sitting 15th in England’s top tier.
