Bayern Munich will be looking to maintain their lead at the top when they take on Bayer Leverkusen at the BayArena on Sunday.
Match Preview
Xabi Alonso’s side will enter the home clash on the back of an impressive 2-0 win over Ferencvaros in the second-leg of their Europa League last 16 tie.
Goals from Moussa Diaby and Amine Adli made it an easy contest for the Bundesliga outfit as they won the tie on a 4-0 aggregate.
Leverkusen have seen a great improvement since Xabi Alonso has taken over the club as their manager. Die Schwarzroten were second-bottom of the table at the start of October but they have steadily improved their position under the Spanish boss.
The German side are currently unbeaten in their previous six matches in all competitions. They emerged victorious in their last two Bundesliga games against Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen to climb up to ninth in the standings.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also enjoying an impressive run of form at the moment. They triumphed over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 tie on a 3-0 aggregate score.
The Bavarians looked in complete control of the home-leg as Eric Choupo-Moting and Serge Gnabry scored to lead them to the quarter-finals of the competition.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side subsequently picked up a 5-3 win over Augsburg at the weekend.
The Bundesliga giants decided the fate of the game by the end of the first-half, with Benjamin Pavard, Joao Cancelo and Leroy Sane all scoring to give them a four-goal lead. Then, Alphonso Davies also earned his name on the scoresheet in the second-half as Bayern recorded a comfortable victory at the Allianz Arena.
The latest home success leaves them two points clear at the top of the table.

Leverkusen will be a difficult opponent on their home soil but their recent record against Bayern has been poor, with the Black and Reds losing four of their last five home league encounters against the Bavarians.
